The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree is available with a Finance major. Because the BBA requires more business courses than a BA or BS degree, it is considered the degree of choice for students planning a career in finance, better preparing student to excel in the business world.
The small classes in the Finance major at Concordia allow for personal attention from top-caliber faculty and stress the key basics of the finance field including corporate and personal finance and investments. Students hone their problem-solving skills, mathematics skills and analytical ability. They gain hands-on experience that prepares them for work in the field. Students perform complete financial analyses of major corporations and do intensive federal income tax research and writing. Concordia has a small investment fund that students examine and make decisions about. Students can also join the Business and Investment Club to expand their knowledge and apply their skills.
Students who find fulfillment in this area of study enjoy working with numbers, are interested in the dollars and cents of running a business and the financial markets. Finance graduates typically have a salary ranking among the highest of all business graduates.
