The Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology focuses on concepts in human movement, exercise and management. Small classes led by experienced faculty ensure students receive the one-on-one attention that graduates attribute to successful career preparation.
Students choosing to earn the B.A. degree can select from multiple tracks within the major including Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Sports Psychology, and/or Sports Management. The B.A. degree prepares students for positions in settings such as fitness/wellness centers, coaching, sports management, rehabilitation, facility management, and promotion and marketing of sporting events. The degree also serves as preparation for post-baccalaureate study in areas such as human growth, aging, athletic training, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sports management, sport psychology and more.
In this program, students learn theory and have various opportunities to bridge theory into practical applications. Students can participate in conferences, workshops, seminars and clinics locally and nationally. Students can also participate in the Concordia Health Alliance for Majors in Physical Education & Kinesiology (CHAMP) club by attending professional conferences, sponsoring club events and by participating in service-learning opportunities. Concordia's convenient location gives students access to internships with a variety of local organizations, such as the Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, Vikings, Wild, St. Paul Saints, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, United Hospital, Acceleration Minnesota, Special Olympics, YMCA and YWCA.
