The Theology major at Concordia provides a thorough grounding in Biblical and Lutheran theology. Students develop a greater understanding of people, interrelationships and morally important contemporary societal issues.
The Theology major is unique in its flexibility and interdisciplinary possibilities, allowing students to customize their major to their interests and career plans. Students may focus on theological topics, combine theology with Biblical languages, or combine theology with a block of liberal arts courses.
Courses are taught by exceptionally experienced faculty who are faithful to Lutheran theology, engaged in the church and who value relationships with students. Guided by faculty, students complete a senior research project that is a culmination of their studies.
Concordia's metropolitan location is ideal for testing theological perspectives and for gaining access to library resources essential to student learning.
Most students majoring in Theology are exploring church careers, seminary studies or graduate school, but any student curious about the Lutheran theological perspective and its applicability to understanding the Bible and addressing issues of contemporary import will thrive in this area of study.
