Finance Major

A WORLD CLASS BBA AT CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY

Finance majors are interested in the dollars and cents of running a business. They like to follow the daily ups and downs of the financial markets. They have a knack for numbers and would like to land a job with a salary ranking among the highest of all business graduates.

Finance majors will follow one of two career paths: managerial finance or financial services. Managerial finance requires managing the finance function for businesses in manufacturing and trade. These industries make and sell consumer and commercial products. The financial services industry creates and sells intangible financial products or services. Banking, securities, real estate and insurance are all financial service industries.

Whichever path you choose, there are many exciting career opportunities available in finance. Finance majors at Concordia are a part of small classes that provide personal attention and hands on experience that prepare them for work in the field. Students participate in research projects that require complete financial analysis of major corporations. Students also research and construct a stock portfolio that outperforms the market. Intensive federal income tax research and writing is another project that will prepare students for work in the field. We have an active Business and Investment Club which gives students many added opportunities. Our BBA is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.
