Financial Needs - We need your help
The Center for Hmong Studies has three important fund raising goals. They are (1) gifts for start up needs for a period of two years, (2) program support, and (3) endowment for sustaining support.
Start Up Needs Approximately $515,298 is needed to meet the two-year start up needs for the Center for Hmong Studies. A gift of $180,000 has been received in the form of a challenge grant. In order to receive this grant, $130,000 must be raised from the Hmong community, and $50,000 must be raise outside of the Hmong community.
To date, over $395,000 has been raised from the foundation community and $74,305 in individual contribution. We only need an additional $45,993 to reach our two start-up goal.
Program Support Approximately $ 150,000 is needed for program support. Some of these program cost included but not limited to the Scholar in Residence program, the semi-annual International Conference on Hmong Studies and the Minor in Hmong Studies.
To date, we have raised $250,000 from the Henry Luce Foundation and $15,000 from individual donors for program support.
Endowment An endowment of $5 million by 2008 is necessary to provide sustaining support to the Center for Hmong Studies. To date, a leadership gift of $1 million has been received. We still need an additional $4 million in endowment support in order for us to achieve our goal.
